MACY'S Fraud On Credit Card Accounting
Mar 24, 2008
Macys complaint by FedUppp
BEWARE Macy's credit cards, - almost all the department stores fall under their Bank, Department Stores National Bank.

I took out a card there at Xmas time with an offer of 15% discount on my first bill. Paid off the bill prior to the discount instore right after purchase. Returned the gifts which didn't fit. Macy deducted 15% from the cash I actually paid on the card claiming they were recouping their new customer discount.

I cancelled the card in Jan - was sent to wrong address. 3 months later still don't have any of my cash back and no resolution to the theft of 15% 0f the $113 owed me. I am entitled to the exact cash I paid on bill. No basis for stealing my cash or holding money on closed credit card account.

Each month statement says they owe me $67. Numerous request to forward my funds are ignored. Customer service stinks- outsourced to India where they don't give a ***.

I used to work in the customer service department at a Macys store, and I have assisted customers with many "alarming " incidents with regards to the Macys credit card. Most of the issues had to do with the Macys Visa. I could tell hundreds of stories about this card. The store forces you to take out a card in order to receive coupons ans discounts. It si absoulutely ridiculous!!!

All I can say is "JUST SAY NO TO THE MACYS CREDIT CARD"

Thanks for the great site! and the heads up on the interest tricks... I did not get a May statement and called to see what my balance/due date and was told by automation "$0" due. BUT that was on the VISA part of the account--though MACY'S is the primary account. I just closed it! LIfe is to short for such nonsense! I hate the phone service as well!!! Long waits, language barrier, disconnections, no solutions!! I am on the way to financial freedom and I don't need a Macy's card, even for fun. Our local store is great, people are great--on the phone is horrendous...just like the awful and useless Walmart!!
