My husband bought my engagement/wedding ring at Macy's. They ring was on sale and seemed like an exceptional deal especially for a buyer who has no idea what quality jewelry should look like.

My experience has been horrible. Not only was there a cloudy spot in the ring, the diamond has fallen out 3x and I have only had it for a year! Luckily I didn't lose the diamond because I am sure they won't replace it even with their extended warranty (which we purchased, what a joke.) Every time it has fallen out it takes 2 weeks or more to get it repaired. Including the time the ring needed to be sized (within the 2 size limit) I have been without my ring for close to 9 weeks total this year.

I have questioned the sales clerk about why the diamond keeps falling out since I don't work in construction or in a job that my hands get banged up. Each clerk has skirted the issue and never give me a solution nor do they act like it is even a concern.

The last time they said they would personally call the manager of the repair center, of course putting blame on the repair center takes the heat of Macy's for selling overpriced, poor quality "fine" jewelry. I would provide a picture however I am still waiting to get my ring back and hear what they have to say.....never again will I buy from "fine" jewelry from Macy's and I have advised all of friends to steer clear.

Reason of review: Bad quality, defective, long repair time, extended warranty doesn't cover lost diamonds.

Monetary Loss: $893.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

PURCHASED DIAMOND EARRINGS AT MACY'S AND THE HAD A DEFECTIVE BACK. I RETURN TO THE STORE AND ADVISED THE CLERK THAT I HAD NEVER WORN THE EARRINGS AND THAT I NEED THE BACK REPLACED.

MY OPTIONS WERE TO WAIT 5 DAYS FOR A NEW BACK OR RETURN THEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY I RETURNED THEM AND WILL CLOSE MY MACY'S CREDIT ACCOUNT.
