My name is Bhumi Shah, my family and I have been loyal customer at Macy’s for over 20 years. We have never had an issued with any of your stores and have always appreciated the level of customer service and quality of products you provide. I am very upset at the fact that I have to write this letter to explain my experience this last weekend. This past weekend my husband and kids where at your store located at Menlo Park Mall in Edison NJ for a mother’s day gift. After finding the perfect gift a pair of Coach Sunglasses, I was extremely happy. While leaving the store I stopped at the shoes department and put my sunglasses bag next to me while trying on a couple pair of shoes. After my size was not available I left the store. About 5 minutes after I left the store I realized that I left my back at the shoe department. I went back to the store after searching the entire shoe department but didn’t find my bag. We also went to customer’s service and they couldn’t help me since no one handed in anything. At that point since I didn’t get a lot of assistance I went to the area where I purchased the sunglasses, the lady who assisted me remember us and contacted security. When security arrived they explained that in that area of the store there was no camera and there was nothing they could do. This situation has made me so upset, my 7 year old son who was with us took all the money he has been saving from his piggy bank to buy me this gift. The fact that Macys threw their hands up and didn’t offer any assistance or solution has disappointed me so much. I contacted the store to further escalate and never received a call back. I have attached the receipt of my purchase so you could see I am not lying. Macy’s needs to do better than this, people shop at Macys because of the customer service and quality. A lot of the times there are stores with the same product for a much cheaper price however I always end up doing my purchases with Macy’s. I would appreciate guidance in this situation before I continue to escalate the issue.

So what you’re saying is you left a purchase from one store in another store and expect the employees from the second store to be responsible for said item? You do realize that some customer picked up your bag right?

That ultimately YOU screwed up and NOT the store or employees. That it was 100% YOUR FAULT! When are little mouth breathers like you going to step up and accept your part of responsibility?

Look at the lesson you just showed your child. It’s ok to blame someone else when YOU make a mistake.


Why would you write to Macy's when Sunglass Hut is it's own company? Sunglass Hut employees are NOT Macy's employees.

Get it??

People lose things all the time. It's not the employees responsibility to babysit every single customer.


Why would Macy’s refund you when you are the one who left the bag ? You made a mistake and trying to put the blame on them.
