I enrolled in your Thanks for Sharing program this fall and was told I would get 10% off all my purchases through the holidays and also get a $25 gift card to use against a $100 purchase. What a suprise when I tried to use the coupon, it had already expired Nov 15!!

Doesn't sharing mean during the holidays? Not to even make it until Thanksgiving? Also, there are so many exclusions it is nearly impossible to find a purchase that is compatible. Read that I can disenroll by phone, but the number is constantly busy.

When my bill arrived it did not have the 10% discount included, so had to spend a lot of time on hold to get that taken care of. What has happened to your customer service??

You used to be a quality store. Will never enroll again...and will most likely stop shopping at Macy's.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Location: Middlefield, Ohio

WOW, I canโ€™t believe the Cheapskates in here complaining , The program couldnโ€™t be any easier to explain, You DONATE 25$ to the Make A Wish foundation and you get 10% back of all your charges from the beginning of the program to the end of the program in the form of a Macyโ€™s gift card. Coupons always have fine print , and your a fool if you think Macyโ€™s is going to give stuff away , the only time that happens is the Last Act rack and Iโ€™m quite sure thatโ€™s the rack you cheapskates are complaining about not being able to use the coupon , if your that cheap start shopping at Wal Mart instead of Macyโ€™s.

I agree Macyโ€™s is such a crooked company they spends so much on sending coupons that you canโ€™t use on anything good. I shop at Dillardโ€™s where everything is so much better prices , quality and no coupons needed.

I joined thanks for sharing and was given a 25$ coupon. Every time I wanted to use it with my purchase, I Was told it wasnโ€™t eligible .

That happened 4times .

I finally gave up . How bout โ€œ Thanks for nothing โ€œ

Same thing happened to me exactly thanks for nothing. Thatโ€™s why I took my business to Dillardโ€™s

I see that this customer did not understand the concept and maybe should have read the rules. It is true that the $25 gift card or receipt is not easy to use as so many great products are already available at their lowest price but, you can find something on sale like bedding (not deal of the day or lowest price of the season) and other sale items.

BUT, the coupon is the least of the benefit. 10% of what you spend will be sent to you in a gift card in February. I love getting that gift card then as it is like Christmas all over again!

I have taken advantage of this program for years. Knowing that it helps charity and myself is a win win in my book.

Thanks for Sharing is an AMAZING program! The $25 fee is actually a DONATION to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which in itself is enough of a reason to join.

On top of that, you get back 10% of everything you spend from the time you join, through the end of the year in the form of a gift cardโ€”sometime around early February.

Itโ€™s truly a win/win. Thank you Macyโ€™s!!

Totally agree. Disappointed and considering never to shop at Macys.

Enrolled when paying but was not told of the huge list of exceptions on the back. Have been to store 5 times during holiday and the 5 times couldn't apply my coupon.

Feel scammed. Will be cancelling my credit card.

I agree with you take your business to Dillardโ€™s where prices are excellent and no coupons needed . Youโ€™ll never feel scammed at Dillardโ€™s just happy and completely satisfied with your great quality purchase

This commentator is not cognizant of the actual terms and conditions of the program! They do not receive a gift card, nor %10 off their bill.

They receive a coupon for %25 off, yes there are plenty of restrictions and as always.. an expiration date! Their $25 enrollment is a charitable donation. Macy's is very kind to offer this wonderful program.

At the end of the holiday season your purchases are tabulated and you receive an actual gift card for %10 of your purchases.

Their is a delay to account for returns and scammers. Last year I had an $86 gift card, if I subtract the initial $25 I was still positive $61.

Get over it-Iโ€™ve been enrolled for years and ALWAYS find items to Purchase- it is a great program & highly recommend it. Maybe instead of blaming Macyโ€™s regarding expiration of a coupon you should read the fine print !

Never received my $110.55 gift card. Have called four times for this with no luck!

They keep saying they will mail it.

I went through this same thing last year! They will not get me EVER again.

I have participated with โ€œThanks for Sharingโ€ program. Not only does Macyโ€™s have great discounts on their merchandise, but receiving another 10% gift card is a bonus.

Macyโ€™s has great customer service.

I have never had any complaints with Macyโ€™s other than their % on credit is high. Love Macyโ€™s!

Hi all, I participate in Macy's Thanks for Sharing every year as I am a cardholder and an active shopper mainly at Macy's. The way the program works is that for each purchase up until Dec 31, you will accrue 10% in your TFS account which will be distributed to you as a gift card (to be used on ANYTHING) in the mail in about Feb/March.

Returns made on those purchased will be deducted from you balance. The $10 Macys $ that you see on your account is extra $ and you can use it or lose it in 30 days from purchase. You will never see a 10% discount on your bill; your GC amount just continues to accrue. As far as the $25 off $100 goes, you will do much better with online printable ads or paper coupons.

I agree it is too restrictive.

I don't think Macy's is explaining the program very thoroughly, but I always receive a GC for about $150-200 each year when I participate. Please be patient and I hope Macys' comes through for you.

You can spend hundreds on gift cards at Macys, yet they don't apply to the Thanks for Sharing. I got mine gift cards at Giant Eagle and they give free gas on gift card purchases.

NEVER again will I join Thanks for Sharing. I'll give to the charities of my choice in the future.

Guest

I had pretty much the same experience. The sales clerk pushes the sharing program on you with the pitch that you receive the Macys $'s and the $25 coupon.

I charged hundreds of dollars on my account and only received $10 in Macy's money and was not allowed to use the $25 certificate on any of my purchases. Needless to say, I will NEVER give to a Macy's sharing program or any other type of charity they offer.

I do not trust their practices anymore. Additionally, it would be very interesting to see how much of THAT money actually goes to the charity and what Macy's gets in return for the donations made by their CUSTOMERS.

Guest

I totally agree... I have been online and in the store looking for anything to use my $25 coupon on. My coupon expires today and still I cannot find anything that I want (or that I don't want) that isn't excluded!

Macy's has the worst customer service. Thanks for sharing program is a joke.

Never received the card and was told 2 weeks ago that will be investigated. I just called now. Nobody knows anything. Spent an hour talking to different people.

It will be the last thanks for sharing that I will participate. Program sucks.

Macy's has always resolved any issues I have had. Some people may try to take advantage of the program

Macy's Thanks for Sharing is a scam. I was signed up for this without my permission or even awareness.

When I got the credit card bill I found that $25 had been added to my bill. I called customer service and complained. I was told my bill would be corrected and I sent in a check for the amount the representative said would be the newly corrected charge to pay the bill in full. Next bill came showing no correction had been done and I still owed, according to Macy's credit card billing, the $25 plus another $22.

I called customer service again and was told the mistake would be cleared up. This would probably take at least two weeks. Will it be cleared up?

I strongly doubt it. Macy's hopes I and everyone else will just forget about it or give up.
